Nutritional Therapy

What is Nutritional Therapy

Nutritional Therapy is the application of nutrition and lifestyle medicine sciences to support optimal health and individual care.

As a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, I assess and identify potential nutritional imbalances and how these imbalances may be contributing to your symptoms and health concerns.

My Mission

To support women balance hormones, relieve digestive issues, regulate blood sugar and manage weight, to increase energy, improve sleep, balance mood, reduce stress, improve skin conditions such as acne, for healthier happier lives.

Using evidence-based scientific research, to support each person on their own health and wellbeing journey, I consider the unique requirements of each individual and prepare a bespoke nutrition and lifestyle programme to support the unique needs of each person, not a ‘one size fits all’ approach.

This approach allows for a programme of personalised nutrition to be tailored specifically for you, taking into account your health journey, your health goals and dietary preferences to support the body towards maintaining optimum health.

Personalised Nutrition

Nutrition and lifestyle approaches to healthcare have been shown to support the health of all the major systems of the body.

Nutrients and other common dietary components influence the function of the body. Vitamins, minerals, antioxidants etc can act on the human genome (our DNA), either directly or indirectly, to alter gene expression or structure.

The degree to which diet influences the balance between healthy and disease states may depend on an individual's genetic makeup.
Some diet-regulated genes are likely to play a role in the onset, incidence, progression and/or severity of chronic symptoms. Dietary intervention based on knowledge of nutritional requirements, nutritional status, and genotype, can be used to prevent, lessen the severity or reverse chronic conditions.

Nutritional Therapy is never recommended as a replacement for medical advice. As a BANT practitioner, I do not diagnose or treat disease. I will always refer a client to their medical professional if concerned about signs or symptoms they may have.

About Me

I am a Registered Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, having completed a 3 year Diploma  with the College of Naturopathic Medicine (CNM).

I am a member of the British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine (BANT) and registered with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC), an organisation set up by the government with the sole purpose of protecting the public, ensuring a high standard of health care professional, within several disciplines.

I have a passion for creating delicious nourishing meals and sharing my love of real food to transform health. It can be easy to feel overwhelmed with regards to food, there is  always some celebrity telling us about some new diet new diet, but the truth is there is no one diet that suits everyone.

We are all unique, rather than comparing our diet to someone else's we should focus on making choices that nourish us as individuals and support us to a state of optimum wellness. It's not about excluding foods but rather including foods that nourish our own body and mind.
