lusan is unique in intention.
Like the food we eat the most beneficial skincare is made with raw, organic, farm-grown ingredients, with as little processing as possible.
Our skin knows inherently how to renew and look after itself. The skincare we choose should respect our skin's natural functions, support its daily processes, not burden it with unnecessary chemicals.
We are constantly bombarded with ever more products to complicate our skin care routines. My simple concept of Cleanse, Hydrate, Nourish and Protect will support the skin in finding its natural rhythm, for comfortable, glowing skin through the day and support regeneration and renewal overnight.

whole plant herbal skincare
Conventional 'plant-based' skincare, often focuses on using plant extracts or derivatives, I take a nutritionist and herbalist approach, believing that the full chemical profile of a plant is more potent than any single part. I use centuries old naturopathic techniques to harness and preserve the healing, energetic qualities of the whole herbs, flowers and roots, capturing the vast array of vitamins, minerals, polyphenols, carotenoids, flavonoids, catechins and anthocyanin to create potent therapeutic formulas that nourish the skin and gently guide it to wholeness and health.
ingredients
It’s not just about what does go into my preparations but also what doesn’t! I don't believe we should be layering on emulsifiers, surfactants, preservatives, or artificial scents, all of which can have a detrimental affect on the skin, from causing irritation, disrupting skin barrier and the microbiome and accelerating ageing. I am committed to using only ingredients that are there to benefit your skin.
small batch production
Every Lusan preparation is meticulously hand-crafted by me in the Lusan apothecary. This artisan approach means that I retain a deep connection to the energetic quality of the plants and that you are assured of the freshest preparations of exceptional quality and efficacy.
sustainable sourcing
This is at the heart of what I do, from seed to bottle, carefully selecting the vast majority of ingredients from UK organic growers who are committed to sustainable farming practices, and ensuring that ingredients from further afield are not only grown to organic or biodynamic principles but that workers are not exploited and are paid fairly for their produce.
