My Ingredient Library

The foundation of good skin starts within, how we nourish our bodies sets the scene for the production of healthy skin cells. Our skin has an inherent intelligence, a natural ability to know how to function for health. What we put on the skin should support these natural functions.

I don’t believe we should be applying layers of surfactants, emulsifiers and preservatives to our skin, even ‘natural’ ones. These ingredients can cause dryness, itchiness and irritation, compromise the protective barrier layer and disrupt the beneficial skin microbiome.

Whole Plant Nutritional Skincare

I wanted to create skincare that nourished and supported the integrity of our skin and the beneficial skin microbiota for long term skin health. By separating my products into water or oil preparations (as opposed to a cream emulsification), the use of preservatives and emulsifiers is dramatically reduced, and in most cases eliminated entirely.

I don't use off the shelf extracts or isolated compounds. While most skincare products are made in a matter of hours, I prepare whole plant ingredients using traditional techniques that take 28 days to slowly and carefully imbue my preparations with the full array of active constituents within the plants. Many of these constituents work synergistically, supporting the actions of each other, which doesn't happen with isolated extracts.

I've written my Ingredient Library for full transparency. Every single ingredient is listed here, with information about the active constituents within the plants and the benefits they have for the skin. You won't find any ingredient that sounds like it belongs in a chemistry lab! Just natural minimally processed whole food for the skin.
